CVE-2026-18210 Security Alert: CRITICAL Vulnerability

Urgent: CVE-2026-18210 requires immediate attention.

· 7 min read

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-18210 is a critical SQL injection vulnerability in TRtek Technological Products Computer Software Hardware Industry and Trade Limited Company Products’s Store product. The flaw is rated CVSS 9.8, meaning an attacker may be able to run arbitrary SQL against the application’s database if they can reach the vulnerable input path. While there is no known exploitation in the wild and it is not in CISA KEV at this time, the severity is high enough that solo developers and small teams should treat this as an urgent patch-and-verify item.

Affected range: Products’s Store before 030631b2. If you run a build older than that commit/hash, assume you are vulnerable until proven otherwise.

Immediate Action

  • Upgrade immediately to the first fixed release or build containing commit 030631b2 or later. If a patched package/image is not yet published, use the vendor’s hotfix or latest secure branch. Vendor advisory / release notes
  • Isolate the service from the public internet if you cannot patch within hours. Put it behind VPN, IP allowlisting, or a temporary maintenance page.
  • Rollback only if needed to a known-good, non-exposed version that is not vulnerable. Do not roll back to an older build that predates the fix.
  • Disable or restrict any feature that passes user-controlled strings into search, filtering, login, admin, or reporting queries until patched.
  • Rotate database credentials after patching if the app had any chance of exposure. Assume credentials may be recoverable if injection was possible.
  • Review logs for suspicious SQL errors, unusual query patterns, or unexpected admin actions. Preserve logs before rotating or redeploying.

Affected Versions

  • Products's Store < 030631b2 — vulnerable
  • Products's Store @ 030631b2 and later — safe, if this commit is included in your deployed build
  • TODO_PACKAGE_NAME<=TODO_FIXED_VERSION — vulnerable; upgrade to TODO_FIXED_VERSION+1 or the vendor’s patched release

Note: If you deploy from source, verify the exact commit in production. A package version alone may not be enough if you build custom images.

Resolution Guide

Preferred fix: upgrade to the first release containing 030631b2 or later.

# JavaScript (npm)
npm install <package-name>@TODO_FIXED_VERSION
npm audit --production

# Yarn
yarn add <package-name>@TODO_FIXED_VERSION
yarn audit

# pnpm
pnpm add <package-name>@TODO_FIXED_VERSION
pnpm audit

# Python (pip)
pip install --upgrade <package-name>==TODO_FIXED_VERSION
pip check

# Python (pipx, if installed as a tool)
pipx upgrade <tool-name>

# Java (Maven)
# Update pom.xml to TODO_FIXED_VERSION, then:
mvn -q -DskipTests dependency:tree | grep -i <package-name>

# Java (Gradle)
# Update build.gradle / build.gradle.kts to TODO_FIXED_VERSION, then:
./gradlew dependencies | grep -i <package-name>

# Linux package managers
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --only-upgrade <package-name>

sudo yum update <package-name>

# Docker
docker pull <vendor-image>:TODO_FIXED_TAG
# then redeploy with the new tag

Config hardening while you patch:

# Example: disable vulnerable search/reporting module if supported
VULNERABLE_MODULE_ENABLED=false

# Example: reduce exposure
ADMIN_ONLY=true
PUBLIC_API=false

# Example: force parameterized query mode if the app supports it
USE_PREPARED_STATEMENTS=true

Minimal code fix pattern: replace string concatenation with parameterized queries.

// Vulnerable
const sql = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE email = '" + email + "'";

// Fixed
const sql = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE email = ?";
db.query(sql, [email]);

Detection & Verification

Check whether you are vulnerable:

# Find the installed version / build
<package-manager> list | grep -i <package-name>

# If you deploy from source, check the commit
git rev-parse HEAD
git log --oneline --decorate -n 5

# Search for risky SQL concatenation patterns
grep -RInE "SELECT .*['\"].*\+|execute\(|query\(" .

# Dependency audit
npm audit
yarn audit
pnpm audit
pip-audit
mvn -q dependency:tree
./gradlew dependencies

Verify the fix:

# Confirm the fixed version/build is deployed
<package-manager> show <package-name>
git rev-parse HEAD

# Confirm the vulnerable path no longer accepts injected input
# Use only in a test environment:
curl -i "https://example.test/search?q=' OR 1=1--"

# Check application logs for SQL errors after patching
journalctl -u <service-name> --since "24 hours ago" | grep -i sql
docker logs <container> 2>&1 | grep -i sql

If you have a staging environment, run a basic regression test against the affected endpoint and confirm it returns normal validation errors, not database errors or expanded result sets. Also confirm that your database user has least privilege and cannot perform schema changes.

Risk and Impact

This flaw can let an attacker read, modify, or delete database records, and in some setups execute administrative actions through the application’s database account. For small teams, the blast radius can include customer data exposure, account takeover, payment or order tampering, and full application compromise if the database user is over-privileged. Even without known active exploitation, a CVSS 9.8 SQL injection should be treated as internet-facing breach risk until patched and verified.
